Oatmeal Breakfast

It's not exciting.
It's not amazing.
But it is quick and easy.
It's oatmeal.

I'm hoping that it will begin as step one of my breakfast habit change. I made oatmeal breakfast for husband and myself this morning. Even had time to pack a small lunch for each of us. And a water bottle to being tracking our water intake.

Today's plan - Eat what's given and drink water.
Weekly Goal - Begin the thought process of healthy living.
          How? Blog about it.

30 Days of Different

Beginning any new habit or process begins with in our minds. My mind has been full and tumbling lately. I am ready for some action. Beginning a new healthy thought process is the first step to living a healthy lifestyle, so it's important to take steps that continue to encourage thought and challenge our minds.

With about thirteen weeks left in the year, I figure it will be good to play the add on game. Each week we will focus on a new goal, along with the goals from the weeks past. I haven't thought through the whole process yet, but you are welcome to follow along.

This week's goal is to begin the thought process of healthy living.

Water, Fail

I think it was only a few days in, and I had a beer - two Guinness actually. They were delicious, but they weren't water. They were not what I needed. Try try again, can't give up - when you have a good idea and a good mind to change your life.

Water IT! pt2

Water, water, water. It's only day 2- and yet I'm already feeling the drag of "because I can't have something I want it" mentality. I don't need anything else, besides water. And so far I've done good, but I have missed coffee just a bit. :)

Water IT, Water You

Ok, first let's focus on water! We need water to live healthy. I was gonna do some research of why water is so important for health - and why we should drink it, but http://www.allaboutwater.org/drink-water.html has done it for me.

10 Reasons to Drink Water
1. Water is absolutely essential to the human body’s survival. A person can live for about a month without food, but only about a week without water.
2. Water helps to maintain healthy body weight by increasing metabolism and regulating appetite.
3. Water leads to increased energy levels. The most common cause of daytime fatigue is actually mild dehydration.
4. Drinking adequate amounts of water can decrease the risk of certain types of cancers, including colon cancer, bladder cancer, and breast cancer.
5. For a majority of sufferers, drinking water can significantly reduce joint and/or back pain.
6. Water leads to overall greater health by flushing out wastes and bacteria that can cause disease.
7. Water can prevent and alleviate headaches.
8. Water naturally moisturizes skin and ensures proper cellular formation underneath layers of skin to give it a healthy, glowing appearance.
9. Water aids in the digestion process and prevents constipation.
10. Water is the primary mode of transportation for all nutrients in the body and is essential for proper circulation.

Granted the point of that website is for you to end up buying a water filter - which I have no like or dislike about. But I love that they make it pretty simple.

WATER. It's important. It's needed - you are thirsty now, I just know it. Go drink some water.

I'm gonna challenge myself to not drink anything but water for a full week. Let's start today Feb 6th (I'll update you as I go.) Gonna do it with me?
